-
A federal permit is required. We can assist you in filing
these forms.
-
In some states, permits may take up to 7 months to obtain,
plan early.
-
Your permit will limit the number of geese you are allowed
to remove.
-
Non lethal techniques must have been employed first.
-
Prior
to a round up, egg addling may also be required (requires a permit).
-
Many
states no longer allow translocation of geese. Most translocated
geese will return.
-
Most round ups take place during the non flying
molting season in June / July but round ups
of flying geese at other times in the year may be possible.
-
Euthanasia
of geese is performed with cool CO2 gas (the same gas in soda pop).
This procedure is painless, fast and humane. This method is approved
by the federal and state wildlife agencies as well as NWCOA and the
AVMA.
-
Harvested geese are an excellent source of meat protein and readily
accepted by most food banks. Processing the geese for meat may be
expensive and a challange.
-
A round up may not always be a cure
all but this service can greatly assist your integrated goose management
program and significanltly reduce resident flock size and associated
flock problems.
